Curious meme

I'm having a really hard time coming up with original blog post ideas at the moment. I blame pre-Christmas burn-out, plus Mr E Man being off work, with the result that I spend my usual blogging time (6 - 8 am) drinking tea and chatting to him. Not that I'm complaining... especially since he has assumed all cooking duties, and drives me to work when it's raining.

Anyway. Here's a cool meme I saw at Curiosity Killed the Cat. As well as bolding the things I've done, I've put the five items I'd most like to do in italics.

  1. Ooooh, I would have italicized Hawaii - highly recommend! And that rock climbing story just proves crazy things happen to you :)

  3. SG, what can I say, I wussed out and he could not foresee a future with a non-climbing girlfriend/wife...

Hawaii... meh... I'm sure it's lovely, but if I was going to go all that distance and have a tropical beach holiday, I'd rather go to a new country. Say, Cuba. I know Hawaii isn't typical of the US, but, I've been to the US LOTS of times before.

Dr A, I want to be in a movie, riding a Russian elephant along the great wall of China!

Actually, what i really want is the courage to take a sick day when I'm not sick. There have been a few days where I've planned it, have even started coughing a couple of days before as a cover, but then chickened out at the last minute. Sometimes my brain thinks that my Mum is still in the next room saying "you can't stay home from school unless you're REALLY sick. Let me feel your forehead."

  6. LOL! Explanation here. Even though Mr E Man isn't working this week, he's still in the old habits. Actually, his last job required 5 am STARTS. i.e. up at 4 and leave the house at 4.30 to get to NEW WEST, FFS. So this is actually a lie-in for him.

  7. This is fun. I wonder about the origin of the list: is it somebody's 100 things to do in a life time?

  8. I find the rock-climbing experience a bit disturbing ;)

But overall this is a fun meme and I'm going to do it right now!

  9. Lisbeth, it's possible, but it would be a very strange person who aspires to get food poisoning, be stung by a bee, break a bone, and get fired!

Nina, I was 20, it was no big deal losing that boyfriend! I've known climbers wherever I've lived, and almost all of them have been very fanatical and cliquey. It's almost impossible for them to even be friends with non-climbers, let alone date them. I know one climber who made an active effort not to be like that, and who said that she was sick of hanging out with people who can only talk about one subject - but it's hard to go climbing without experiencing that group dynamic. Mountain bikers are the same, to a lesser extent...

  10. Reading this list drives home that I am a wuss in more ways than one.

Yeah, I can't get up the nerve to call in for a sick day when I'm not...

  11. I guess I can always copy your list and actually blog something instead of being all too quiet?!

    Happy weekend!!

  13. I think I've mentioned on NN blogs that usually I don't care for posting memes (they make me feel that I have a very boring life and/or have accomplished very little). However, this meme seems different, in that not all of the items are exciting or require demi-god(dess) status. I've posted my list on my pseudonymous blog.

  14. Bean-mom, we should do a synchro-sickie for the moral support!

Chall, I think you've been posting more than me recently!

Lisbeth, it's possible - there are some very strange people in the world!

Barn-owl, yes this was a nice non-challenging meme!
