Woe is me

The shower room is out of commision because of (ironically enough) a flood. They wouldn't even let me in to grab stuff out of my locker. It being a cold and rainy day, I'm sitting here with my frizzy unwashed hair and unmoisturised face, wearing all the warm clothes I can muster, and hugging a mug of hot mint tea.

Boooooooooooo.

  1. Oh, great, and now they've started drilling about 5 m away from my desk. Luckily there are lots of Easter treats around.

  2. awwwwww.. sounds like one of those days when you should've stayed in bed (like me last week). I hope it gets better! (or just, go home and take an Early Easter!)

  3. Bummer. You better eat all the Easter treats you can find..it will help keep you warm! And if there is a spare bunny, I will in your building in just over an hour.....

  4. Do what I do.. pop over to the hospital and 'borrow' an on-call room. You could even sneak in a nap after your warm shower :)

  5. Chall, that sounds like it would have been a good idea, except that I have the first session of a course starting in half an hour, which I'm looking forward to.

(Mermaid, I'll see you in there! I hope the course improves the day rather than making it more frustrating).

Dr. A, I know someone who might be able to direct me to an on-call room... hmmmm... of course, my shampoo, towel etc. are in my locker.

  7. Cath: sounds not dissimilar to the uphill battle that is working in my whitenoise hole is like most days!! No shower here either unless you count the cold emergency showers.

Dr A: you never told me about the ruse! Where???

  8. Mrs CH, the course was actually really really good, so no regrets with staying all day!

Dr J, luckily the drilling didn't last too long. No shower would really suck, although I guess at least you're prepared for it (i.e. shower at home before leaving for work).

I managed a brief commando raid on the still forbidden room to grab my towel for swimming...

  9. Command raid :) I hope you have your shower back soon.

  10. Glad you had some hot mint tea! Otherwise, it sounds like a very cold ordeal!

  11. SG, I've showered at home today just in case the room is still out of action. I'll have ridiculous frizzy helmet hair, but at least it'll be clean!

SF, yeah, it took me a few hours to warm up properly (my work is usually quite cold unless it's sunny out, in which case it bakes). Tea saves the day yet again!
