Baby number one of the summer has arrived!
An as-yet unnamed little girl, by C-section at 2 pm PST. Many congratulations to proud parents Sally and Steve!
Four more to go before July 20th, including baby #1's cousin! One baby is expected in Seattle, the others in Vancouver. There's a second wave (currently n=2) hitting Vancouver in November.
My friends have been busy*, and I will be a busy Auntie! My duties start tomorrow, when I'll be taking two of the remaining very pregnant mums out for their last child-free dinner for a while...

woohoo! congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYes indeedy!
ReplyDeleteHeading to the pub imminently to celebrate with baby's Uncle and Aunt! The latter is due on July 5th and just about ready to seize her sister-in-law's inducing hormomes from the nurse's hand and inject them into her own leg...
Awesome! How fun (until none of your friends can hang out because they all have infants).
ReplyDeleteWell, that's possible... I think there will be more movie nights at people's houses! But there are still enough of us without kids.
ReplyDeleteBTW the name is Sydney Aurora.
It's definitely baby season! Three of my colleagues are having babies with due dates within three weeks of one another.
ReplyDeleteI tried to figure out what was happening at the time of most of the conceptions, and it was the election of a certain president. Happy times!
ReplyDeleteThe timing thing is funny :) Hubby has a cousin a day older than him, and the story goes that there was a hurricane 9 months earlier...
ReplyDeleteHeh! Excellent. My parents were very boring and planned my arrival for slap bang in the middle of the school year, because they didn't want me to be either the youngest or the oldest in my class. Did I mention they're both teachers? Yeah.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jack Peter arrives in Seattle, also via C-section!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe mother is one of my best friends from high school, who now lives just a few hours away...
