It's gonna be the best birthday EVAH!

I finally got my grubby mitts on some Olympic tickets! And it only took 53 minutes of watching the browser refresh in the "virtual waiting room"!

Feb 15th: Men's snowboard cross finals
Feb 16th: Men's hockey prelims, Canada-Norway
Feb 17th: Women's hockey prelims, Canada-Sweden
Feb 18th: Men's curling prelims (10 minute walk from my house!)

I'll hopefully be celebrating my birthday with a Canadian victory! (Sorry, Norway)

Wooooooooooooooooo!

  5. Cath: American or Canadian?

Oh wait, I can actually say that I am ok with betting 20USD and you go 20 CAD - Then I can spend it when I go to visit Vancouver again, surely it is ok for 3 beers? ;)

(have to have faith in hockey since the football team sucks, wait - that is the men's team...anyhow... you're on!)

  6. CE, any chance you could make it here?

Mrs CH, thanks! Might be my first chance to cheer for my new country in person!

    EGF, yup!

Chall, sounds like a deal! This is just for that one prelim game that I'm going to be at, right? We could run some kind of pool again for the whole tournament ;)

  7. Just the one game Canada vs Sweden. I'm sure we can think of a betting scheme for the rest of the tournament though ;)

  8. Yahoo! I just checked the schedule, and if I am reading it right, we are going to the Canada vs US men's game on Feb 21st. We didn't even know who was playing when we bought the tickets!!!!! How lucky is that?

  9. NICE!!!

Someone I work with also got prelim hockey tickets without knowing who was playing, and ended up with like Germany vs. Slovenia or something (we were going to buy those tickets if we didn't get any other ones ourselves!). But he also got the semi final that Canada will be in IF all goes to plan ;)

  10. I would congratulate you but I'm too jealous. I will most likely be studying for comps and unable to enjoy the moment. SCREW YOU ALL!

  11. That sucks. Still, that's what the TV is for...

I'll have a (monstrously overpriced) beer for you!

  13. Yeah... last time I spent too much time on my phone at a hockey game, Mr E Man confiscated it from me. But I'll do my best!
