Hockey pool, week 15

Look, Mr. Harper! I'm being a good Canadian and am using hockey to distract myself and others from the suspension of our democracy!

I can not believe I dropped the lovely Alex Burrows from my team for the first time this season, only to see him score seven points this week, including back-to-back hat-tricks. (One of my other consistently performing stars, Patrice Bergeron, injured himself about eight minutes into the week).

Alex, you rule, and I will never, ever doubt you again. You're back in my team, as is Luongo. Nabokov did well for me for a few weeks, but with only one win to his name this week, it's back to Bobby Lu.

The hottest Canuck, in both senses of the word

Right, now where was I? Oh, right, PRO-DEMOCRACY, NOT PROROGUE! HARPER OUT!

  1. woho.... I am inching my way closer to you Cath ;)

Although, I do think there is something fishy with the Alyssa and the scores... she's that much better than the rest of us. pahh... :D

(congrats Alyssa for being consistently better all the time. I guess it means you are really good at this! I obviously dabble with my team members ^^...)

  2. Kudos to you for bringing politics into the fun of hockey! LOL

Thanks Chall! We'll see how long I can keep it up!

  3. Chall, yeah, you're making me nervous! Hopefully the lovely Burrows can save me...

Alyssa is clearly cheating by knowing more about hockey than us, and/or spending more time picking her team each week.

Alyssa, just trying to do my patriotic duty!

  4. Are points awarded or deducted for penalties? If so, I'd suggest picking players with either wide or thin faces.

  5. Nope, but I shall bear that fascinating research in mind in case they change the rules!

  7. #2 for Burrows! Could there be another hat-trick?

  8. uj, I forgot to check how many games the goalie was playing.... Kiprusoff is only playing 2 and I should've changed. Pah. Need to get my head back in there... clearly not done as well as I should've ;)

  9. At least he got you one point last night... the Canucks seem to have prorogued their defense, meaning that I got zero points from Luongo in that game. 4 points total from Burrows and Daniel Sedin though - shame he couldn't get the hat-trick!

  10. Thank goodness Burrows avoided a suspension for the comments he made about the (allegedly, but everyone in Vancouver knows it's true) dodgy refereeing in that game... I sense there will be ongoing repercussions in the form of other not-penalties called by other referees though.
