I am not a domestic goddess. I still cook like a student at least half the time - lots of pasta and stir fries. So here's my quick'n'easy alternative to the lovely but fancy amuse bouche recipes from Dr. Isis and PhysioProf.
Ingredients:
Assorted hot peppers. A mix of fresh green jalapenos and pickled red and yellow banana peppers works well for me.
Cream cheese.
Smoky bacon.
Instructions:
Cut peppers in half. Stuff halved peppers with cream cheese. Wrap each half pepper in half a rasher of bacon. Secure with a toothpick. Bake at 375F until the bacon is cooked.
Beverage suggestion:
Beer.
See? No need to boil pears, marinade anything, or buy little cups with lids on...

ReplyDeleteHey lovely lady...so sorry I've been absentee so often. But there is an award for you over at my place - so maybe you can overlook it (the absenteeism)?
ReplyDeleteNow that kind of recipe I can do! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds yummy. Drool
ReplyDeleteThat sounds delish (but pretty much any appetizer with bacon works for me)!
ReplyDeleteHehe - maybe I should extend this feature to the other courses they're proposing. Although making soup is Mr E Man's speciality. I swear he saved me from starvation when I had my wisdom teeth out.
ReplyDeletePeggy, bacon features prominently in my repertoire. I am basically Homer Simpson, just with more hair.
Mmmmmmmm. Bacon.
Anyway. Wayfarer, no need to apologise, real life is more important! Thank you so much for the award! I've already been given this one, so I will have to ponder whether to pass it on to others...
Definitely continue with the remaining courses!
ReplyDeleteI'll do my best!
ReplyDeleteMmmm... I bet this is really good with beer!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that it is now 5.01 pm on a Friday reinforces my agreement with that statement.
