Yet another meme!

Damnit Crystal! Here's me trying to write the exceptionally serious, meticulously researched and definitely not silly posts that I am known for, and there's you tagging me for more frivolity.

Ah well, I suppose it is OK to have the occasional silly post.

Here are the Rules:

1. Link to the person that tagged you
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
6. Let your tagger know when your entry is UP.

1. When I go to bed I absolutely have to lie on my right side for the first few minutes. Then I have to move to my left side for a while. Then I have to flip onto my stomach. If this routine is not followed, I will not get to sleep for hours. Mr E Man has adapted well to this situation, but it can be a problem when I'm camping; I have pissed off many tent mates with my strange ritual and rustly sleeping bag.

2. I have a tendency to get addicted to computer games. Tetris, internet backgammon, and the Facebook versions of Risk and Boggle in the last year or two, and currently SuperBall 2 on my iPhone. Ooh, tilty! I only use the accelerometer version, and after playing for like 2 hours in the ferry line up last weekend I could barely move my hand.

3. I have a weakness for trashy reality TV. Survivor, Wife Swap, Wipeout etc. I don't count Dragons' Den as trash though, it is teh awesome.

4. I hate ordering food over the phone and will always try to get someone else to do it. Mr E Man is the same way so we have to take it in turns. When it's my turn, it's never actually all that painful, but by the next time, I've usually forgotten that.

5. I am a little bit obsessed with Sarah Palin right now. Mr E Man has started to leave the room when she comes on, unless it is on SNL. He has heard enough rants for this campaign.

6. I am planning to get my first ever tattoo to commemorate becoming a dual British-Canadian citizen (some time in the next 15 months if all goes to plan). I am thinking that some kind of Celtic style maple leaf would be a cool way to celebrate the merging of the two cultures.

I'm gonna ignore rules 4 and 5 and tag: any blogger reading this who has a tattoo!

    woooot!

May one suggest a nice looking blue leafe ;)

joke aside, I'll think of my quirks when I am in lab and then write a post about it since I got tagged....

I had a nice little piece about the virophage that I have been contemplating but I guess that will have to wait another day or two.

  2. I am laughing about your getting to sleep ritual. I don't have a ritual, but I do walk and talk in my sleep. Lancelot is used to it now, but I am always a little nervous about staying with someone new, because I never know what I am going to do.
Wifeswap?!?! wifeswap?!?! Every time I see clips from this show I get so annoyed that I feel like I am going to undergo spontaneous human combustion. I watch plenty of other crap to make up for it though. ;)

  3. Chall, it will emphatically not be anything that in any way resembles the Toronto maple leaf logo! I have a friend (or rather a friend-in-law) who is into Celtic design and I am going to commission a design from him.

I am looking forward to hearing about your quirks AND the virophage!

XX, what do you say?! I have been known to talk complete crap in my sleep too.

Wifeswap is HILARIOUS. It's one of those shows that makes you feel like your own life is completely on track, ya know? See this iconic clip for an example... OK so it's trading spouses but they are the same show.

  4. Cath: Figured as much. Ah well, had to try ;)

I think the celtic style maple leaf will be awesome, personal and cool. A sweet idea in short.

will try and get time today to write... off to seminar now..

  6. Chall, I hope it will work out OK, I haven't seen any actual designs yet! (I'm only going to go ahead if I get an AWESOME design). I always wanted something personal that commemmorates a specific event. I almost got something DNA helix-based after I got my PhD, but the move to Canada got in the way and then it felt like too long a gap!

    Crystal, gee, thanks pal! ;)

  8. I've been told I yell "stop it" and "shut up" most frequently just after I fall asleep. However, two weeks ago, I yelled out "bacon." This makes more sense because I love me some bacon.

  9. Bacon! That is too funny!

Apparently I sometimes sit up and ask my husband, in a very strict schoolmarmish voice, "What are you doing?. Depending on how awake he is, he either says "nothing!" or "dunno... leave me alone".
