Game 1 to the good guys!

  3. Hello where was all this fanfare for the Giants!!! (not to say that monkey will not be wearing his jersey in celebration tomorrow)

  4. Booo!!!! Go Flames Go! :D

My husband is a Canucks fan though - it will be rough going if they meet in the playoffs.

  5. My heartfelt congratulations for making it to the playoffs. The concurrent demise of my beloved Oilers, and the ensuing firing of their coach (which incidentally takes care of the embarrassing situation with your Macbok) has made me decide that the Canucks are now the team which I hope to see win the Stanley Cup (this year -- next year hopefully the Oilers will be back).

  6. Chall, sorry about your other team... but hopefully Sundin will start to play like he used to and the Canucks will have a good long run!

SM, Giants schmiants! I've been to a couple of their games, I'm always glad to hear they're doing well, but really, it's just not the same...

Little kids in team shirts are almost as cute as little kids on skis. The latter is just about the cutest thing ever.

Mrs CH, how 'bout supporting every Canadian team until they play your team, eh?! My husband has taught me well... although some of our friends disagree and are rooting against Calgary.

Massimo, thank you! Mrs CH could learn a thing or two from you ;) It's a shame the Oilers didn't make it in, but at least you chose a good year to be away from Edmonton.

  7. I'll make you a deal - if they make it to the finals, I'll cheer them on...but no sooner! LOL That's as far as I'll go!

  8. No No NO Mrs.CH you have to support them until they meet your team. We want as many Canadian teams in as possible! What would be a better 2nd round then Flames vs Canucks!

  9. Cath> Does the "support every Canadian team" go for Canadians too??? (think hard now ;) )

I am guessing my house will be a bit upset tonight since Canadians play Boston (no 1)... I might not have the heart to laugh about the defeat ^^

SM> I am impressed and it gives hope to other teams... Giants won ^ ^

(and tonight, the infedelity continues with the Swede team taking on Columbus. Maybe it will be the red shirt at the pub...

  10. I for one say supporting all canadian teams includes supporting the Canadiens AND that stupid other team that took my favourite GM and will now be a contender within 3 years...stupid stupid ownership

    ReplyDelete
  11. yup, ALL Canadian teams. Although admittedly I don't pay much attention to the Eastern conference unless we're playing one of them - their games are often over before I even get home from work!

  12. No way SM - I just cannot cheer for the Canucks. I'm hardcore like that! LOL

  13. My Islanders (have) suck(ed).

  14. Thomas, the great thing about sport is that there's always next season!

Dr A, 15 to go! (If we sweep all rounds!)

  15. I see that Calgary and Montreal both managed to lose their first games.

The Vancouver Canucks - Canada's Team!

  16. CAth> it was a somewhat harsh night in someone's home.... after exchanges like "I guess if you have 6 teams one of them is bound to be in the play offs" [I only have...ehhh.. three] ;)

Then Canadians lost. Granted though, they did play the number one team so I am not that surprised. we'll see what happens to the flames and Canandians next game.

    gogogogo Canucks!

    ReplyDelete
  17. SM> i'm sorry about that. [have a funny feeling i might be cheering for that other team?]

ok, I will try and cheer for Canadians.... for the team.

    ReplyDelete
  18. yes chall you are cheering for that stupid other team. As in my awesome BIL so i guess its OK....Go Canucks GO

  19. I predict 3-2 to the Canucks tonight. Goals by Burrows, Henrik Sedin and Kesler.

Still plenty of time for the Flames and Canadiens to win this round!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well, I got 2 out of the 3 Cancucks goal scorers right! But I gave the Blues more credit than they deserved last night.

    ReplyDelete
  21. THREE DOWN!

I wonder when the Canucks last swept anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  22. what a freakin awesome game! I missed the last 5 minutes b/c my stupid PVR didn't record. We may just sweep!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Gah, I hate it when video timers mess up like that. It was a great game - actually it's been a great series so far.

A sweep would be great, but wouldn't we run the risk of losing momentum? It could be a while before all the other match-ups finish, the Ducks-Sharks series has only just finished game 2.

  24. YEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

    SUCK IT, ST LOUIS!

Boo the Canadian anthem, will ya?

    SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP!

    How awesome is Alex Burrows?!

    ReplyDelete
  25. WOOOOHOOOO!!! yeah booing the anthem was lame, but the montreal fans did the same thing....

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, and that pissed me off too. Being English I've seen my own anthem booed by the Scots, Welsh, Irish, French and Aussies, so it really pisses me off. Show some fucking respect, boo boys.
